T-Mobile HD2 to receive ROM update soon

Despite the Windows Phone 7 launch just around the corner, it looks like the Windows Mobile based HTC HD2 is still alive and kicking, with a software update coming right around the corner. Here's the rundown of what's being fixed:

  • Browsing Facebook photos is slow
  • White screen while browsing the internet
  • Cannot delete GMAIL messages from the preview screen
  • SMS sends to the wrong person
  • Twitter errors
  • Cannot unlock the phone
  • Cannot unlock the phone with the correct password
  • No space bar on company directory keyboard
  • Can’t hear Visual Voicemails
  • Speakerphone stops working after using the Call Assist app to call 611

A few things to point out, it looks like the Twitter client is finally being updated, despite the recent Basic Authentication errors and HTC's work around. Also, the notorious "Cannot unlock phone with correct password" bug is finally being squashed, one that we've encountered before. The update will roll out stating October 19th (tomorrow) and will be available at t-mobile.com/wmupgrade.
