The HTC HD2 features everything one would want in a mobile gaming platform: large, capacitive screen, sensitive accelerometer, fairly loud speakers, and a comfortable, thin form factor. However, the HD2 has very few games that are actually designed for it. But with a little digging around, I have compiled a list of several great games that run well on HD2.
Field Runners
A very addicting tower defense game originally released for iPhone/iPod Touch, this game features many different weapons that must be strategically placed in order to ward off enemies. Description from Handmark:
The hit tower defense game comes to mobile - Fieldrunners! Defend your turf by constructing towers that combat wave after wave of enemy attacks. The Fieldrunners will be relentless as they swarm you with soldiers, military vehicles, and helicopters. Construct your towers strategically to maximize the impact of your defenses against countless land and air attacks. Upgrade your existing towers. Preserve your cash to buy more powerful weapons. Only your most brilliant tactics on the battlefield can hope to outsmart this cunning enemy. Do you have what it takes to stop the Fieldrunners?
The game can be purchased for $7 here at Handmark.
Xtrakt
A racing game originally for the XPERIA X1, Xtrakt is a 3d racing/shooter game that runs very smoothly on the HD2. Download it from XDA here.
Groovy Jump
An accelerometer-enabled game without a doubt based on Doodle Jump, Groovy Jump features a Penguin that jumps around on ice platforms. The game is offered in both Free and Pro versions at http://www.groovy-jump.com/.
Pocket Sand
A very simple game, Pocket Sand involves the concept of the Falling Sand game. While very addicting, the buttons at the bottom are very hard to hit, and Pinch-To-Zoom doesn't seem to work on this full screen game.
