Today we rolled out a new site look, or more of a new take on the previous design. The reasoning in the change was simple: We needed to differentiate ourselves from our sister site; We needed a shift in focus.
Windows Mobile has recently been fading into the dust. It's sad, it's unfortunate, but it's older brother Phone 7 has decided to push its way into the spotlight. Of course, Windows Mobile is still very much alive, but not from a news perspective. The chances of receiving many new devices are small, so rather than focusing on new features, new devices, or in the grand scheme, news, we're focusing on what our name really says: Hacking our old Windows Phones into something great. For those of you making the leap to Windows Phone 7, you'll feel right at home over at our sister site, Windows Phone 7 Central. There, you'll find all the devices, news, and hacks you need to boost up into the popular camp. For those of you who don't find poor multitasking and locked down platforms appealing, however, that's where WPH comes in.
We will now be focusing on more hacks, more tweaks, and essentially, more Windows Mobile. And when Windows Phone 7 is matured and receives jailbreak, root, or whatever-they-want-to-call-it treatment, we'll be here, right around the corner. In the meantime, you'll find all our content from both sites right here on the homepage, and in the horizon, a lot of new Hacker-based content. We'll work on development information, cool tweaks, and ways to make your Windows Mobile handset competitive even in the field of eye-candy slurping Android, iOS, and WP7 devices.
And finally, a special thanks goes to all our readers. Without you, we never would have made it this far. Be sure to join in the discussion on our pages, and share your opinion. The media might want us to think otherwise, but Windows Mobile is still very much alive.
