Well, they tried. They tried hard. Every day I saw either a banner ad or a commercial featuring the KIN, and every day the price seemed to drop. But today, Microsoft has officially pulled the plug on the KIN. They have this to say:

"We have made the decision to focus exclusively on Windows Phone 7 and we will not ship KIN in Europe this fall as planned," the company said. "Additionally, we are integrating our KIN team with the Windows Phone 7 team, incorporating valuable ideas and technologies from KIN into future Windows Phone releases. We will continue to work with Verizon in the U.S. to sell current KIN phones."

This is probably a smart move, as most KIN reviews were fairly low, but even simple software updates could have solved this. But whatever the final reason is, the KIN is officially dead, and chances of it ever seeing another carrier are gone with it.
